Booking Conditions
Here are our conditions of hire. Please contact us if you have a question or wish to make a booking.

Bookings of self-catering apartments at Hazelwood Court are accepted by the proprietor, Mrs Susan Stilling, subject to the following conditions :

  • Contract of Hire
    Accommodation at Hazelwood Court is provided on a self-catering holiday basis only. No short-term letting arrangements apply under these Conditions of Hire. The booking agreement will be implemented by the issue of a written confirmation by the proprietors, following their receipt of a signed booking form and agreed payment. The normal period of hire is from 4.00 pm on Saturday to 10.00 am on the following Saturday, except for short breaks and Christmas / New Year bookings when the start and / or finish dates may differ.
  • Party Size and Composition
    Except by prior written agreement with the proprietors, the sleeping accommodation in each apartment will be available only to the persons named on the booking form. No more than the maximum number of persons stated in the accommodation details may occupy any one apartment.
  • Payment for Bookings
    Reservations will be confirmed on receipt of a non-returnable deposit of £100.00 for each apartment per week and a signed booking form for each apartment, which should be forwarded to the proprietors within five days of a provisional telephoned or emailed agreement. Once the agreement has been confirmed in writing by the proprietors, the hirer is responsible for payment of the balance of the apartment hire charge no later than 42 days (6 weeks) before the holiday start date Bookings made within 42 days of the start date should be accompanied by payment of the full hire charge. All payments should be made to 'Mrs S Stilling' by means of cash, cheque or bank transfer.
  • Cancellation
    In the event of a cancellation, please notify the proprietors immediately either by email or by telephone, followed by confirmation in writing by first class post or email. Hirers are strongly advised to arrange cancellation protection insurance with a reputable company, as the payment of the full hire charge is the hirer's legal responsibility once the proprietors have accepted the booking. Balances due or paid will normally only be refunded if the proprietors successfully re-let the cancelled booking.
  • Accident, Injury and Loss
    The proprietors do not accept responsibility for any accident or injury sustained by the hirer or by any member of his / her party during the period of hire of the apartment, nor for any loss or damage to any personal property brought to Hazelwood Court by visitors.
  • Hirer's Responsibilities
    The hirer is fully responsible for the apartment and all its furnishings, fixtures and fittings throughout the hire period, and is expected to take reasonable care of them. The apartment and its contents should be left in the same clean and serviceable condition as found on arrival. Replacement and re-instatement costs resulting from malicious or accidental damage shall be recoverable from the hirer by the proprietors, although no charge will normally be made for minor breakages.
  • Accommodation and Amenities
    The use of the accommodation, its equipment and any advertised amenities (eg sporting / leisure facilities) is entirely at the visitor's own risk. Any loss of amenity to the hirer or his / her party (eg need for repairs to or replacement of defective equipment, etc) should be notified to the proprietors as soon as possible, who will make every reasonable effort to rectify any notified problem. Liability will not be accepted where the hirer's complaint has been deferred to the end of the hire period. Compensation payable in the event of acceptance of liability by the proprietors for any loss of amenity shall not exceed the amount paid by the hirer for the accommodation.
  • Gas and Electricity
    From January 1st 2012, we are introducing the option of an all-inclusive accommodation tariff which will include the cost of all electricity and gas used during your stay at Hazelwood Court. These adjusted tariff prices are now shown on our website Prices and Availability page. We will, however, continue to quote significantly lower non-inclusive apartment hire charges on request, with energy costs calculated and charged separately on departure, as we have for the past 30 years.   • Pets, Children and Smokers
    The proprietors regret that they are normally unable to allow pets into the apartments. Please discuss with the proprietors before booking where children under five years of age may be included in the party. Sorry, but we no longer permit smoking in any part of the building at Hazelwood Court.
  • Description and Availability
    Every care has been taken to ensure that the whole property, its amenities and each apartment have been described as accurately as possible in the advertising and publicity material and that all details have been supplied by the proprietors in good faith and are believed to be correct at the time of publication. The proprietors welcome verbal or written enquiries and requests for further information about the holiday apartments. Potential hirers may at all reasonable times and subject to vacancies available personally inspect any of the apartments to satisfy themselves of the accuracy of the descriptions given, without obligation. The proprietors reserve the right to refuse or revoke at any time bookings from parties which may, in their opinion and at their sole discretion, be unsuitable for the apartment concerned. Admission may be refused to any or all members of parties where these conditions are not observed.
